Poply makes it easy for you to upload a .csv file with email and/or phone numbers to quickly import contacts to your guest list.
On the website:
- Log in to Poply.com via your favorite browser.
- After you have created your event [How to create an invitation], you are ready to invite your guests. Once you reach the 'Guests' page, click the 'UPLOAD CSV' button.
- Click 'Upload File' and select your desired .csv file. Please make sure your file has columns labeled "name", "email", and/or "phone" -- any other columns will be ignored. If using both email and phone numbers, create a separate columns for each. Phone numbers can be entered in any format but must be mobile phone numbers only for the invite to send successfully. Note: if any of the contacts in your .csv file have both an email and a phone number listed, our system will default to adding the contact's email. If you would like to send the invite via text, you must delete the email from the contact's row file before uploading.
- Once your .csv file has been uploaded, your contacts will appear on your Guest List. If adding more than 12 guests, you will be prompted to upgrade to Poply Premium [What is Premium?].
- You can now choose to 'Save Guests as Draft' or 'Continue to Review.' If you select 'Save Guests as Draft,' your Guest List will be saved and will be taken back to the event details page. If you click 'Continue to Review,' you can either 'Send Me a Test' to receive a preview of your invite or click 'Send Invite' to send your invitation to guests. Congrats, your invitation has sent! Sit back, relax, and look out for those RSVPs!
On the iPhone or Android App:
- Log in to the Poply App on your iPhone or Android device.
- After you have created your event [How to create an invitation], you are ready to invite your guests.
- From the event details page, tap 'Invite Via Contacts,' then tap 'Import' in the upper right corner.
- Select '.CSV' at the top of the screen and hit 'Get Started.'
- Select your desired .csv file. Please make sure your file has columns labeled "name" and "email" -- any other columns will be ignored. Note: only email is currently supported on the iPhone/Android Apps and any phone numbers in the .csv file will fail to upload.
- Once your file has uploaded, tap 'Done Uploading Contacts.' If adding more than 12 guests, you will be prompted to upgrade to Poply Premium [What is Premium?].
- If you wish to manually add more guests or add guests via Google or your phone, you may do so. When you are finished adding your guests, tap 'Done Adding Guests.'
- When you are ready to send your invite, tap 'Send Invitation' and get ready for those RSVPs to come in!
